Now we're really on the
losse! We ordered the first 100 decoders from Littfinski for the digital controls. The boosters for sufficient current supply should arrive
this week. This means soldering wires 'til we drop. In the meantime, nicknames have been found for the various teams. Our "wood worms" work
hard on the risers and subroadbed for the second building phase. A big article in the paper again brings in some spectators.
Although ist really wonderful to have some smalltalk with interested visitors, this holds up our work. Therefore, we plan an open
house, which will be announced on our homepage.
The 2 building phase is still in the hands of our "wood worms" Christian, Christian, and Harry! The plans are transferred to the plywood risers.
This part of the 2nd building phase will once be the high sierra. On the summit one can see the tunnel opening at 2.20 meters height. The trains will cross the main aisle here high above the visitors' heads on a huge bridge and enter the 3rd building phase which will be started in about two weeks.
As far as the wood goes, the 1st building phase is done. Two or three weeks with wiring work and the scenery team is about to start.
The inside of the layout looks like complete chaos. This bird's eye view shows 6 different layers of track! They are all leads or exits to and from hidden staging.
All over the place in the 1st building phase thick wire strands grow (this picture shows the current supply for the 4 - story hidden staging).
The ICE-track is already visible but still without trackwork since the bridges are just about to be built. We'll have concrete bridge of about 3 meters spanning the scenery here => unfortunately very realistic!
