13 week: 22 January, 2001 ÷ 28 January, 2001Now it's a "go!" for the
electronic guys. We ordered 150 km wire just for the complete track wiring and are not sure whether that's enough... This week, Wednesday,
24.1., our homepage will start. Well, it is Friday today and the 48 hours showed nearly 2,000 visitors! That is enormous and lets us hope for
the future numbers of visitors of the layout. many non-modellers keep asking us, if we really think that anybody would care to visit a layout???
Well, we'll show them (hopefully...)! When we were kids, we often visited the museum of Hamburg History which was a dream for us children. Now
we pass on part of our dream to the kids of today. We want to - and will - convince them that there's more to life than just Nintendo, Play
Station, and computer games! |

- The first, 4-storey- hidden staging yard is nearly ready. Many hours have already been spent wiring it. Each wire is controlled and documented. There's aboslutely no room for mistakes!
- Wires, wires, wires...
- Werner and Richard built the staging yards and wired them. Pity, nobody will see their craftmanship later on...

- The 1 building phase sees nearly all wood work done. 90% of the track is laid out. Now scenery is next!
- The 2 building phase also shows progress. The huge risers for the smaller part of the alps are fixed to the benchwork. The trains will battle a steep grade up to 2.2 meters high, just like on the legendary St. Gotthard line. At one spot, one can see the trains 5 times. At the summit the trains will cross the main aisle on a huge steel bridge to reach the other side in a wonderful snowy high mountain-scenery

- ÷7. This view gives a small glimpse of the sheer size of the 2 building phase. Tons of wood have been used.
