12. week: 15 January, 2001 ÷ 21 January, 2001

This week we will concentrate on the 2 building phase. The risers have to be transferred to wood and cut. We had to revise our plans several times since the unique Car System developed by Gerrit Braun (based on Faller) will be built in here. In the future, more than 100 cars will run through towns, race the highways and drive through the mountains in an area of about 20 m² ! And all traffic will be computer controlled!!! The first 3,000 cars from Wiking have arived. This week, the final decisiion is made wether the cars will be fitted with fiber optics or lamps. At least 1,000 man hours will be needed for the cars!

1. The plans of the 2 building phase have been removed since the risers are all transferred to plywood. Now it's up to the carpenters in the workshop to cut them out and mount them to the benchwork.

2. The 1 building phase is making great progress!

3. This is again the spot with the small station. To the right, the riverbed has been created. Up in the background one can already guess the shape of the "mountain" station.

4. The mountain station photographed from a bird's view. Pure chaos! We'll have a small viallage and a mine here.

5. + 6. On one hand, we put a lot emphasis on the scenerey, on the other hand, we wanted interesting trackwork. There has to be "action" when a visitor looks at the layout. The contours are now visible. The rivers snakes through the valley and a couple of nice bridges will provide for some fantastic foto spots (mot of the bridges will be scratchbuilt).

7. The week is over and viewing from the 1 to the 2 building phase, one can see in the background how many risers for the second phase are ready! Through this massive hole in the wall the mainline and the ICE-track will connect the first and second building phases.
