Tydz. 06

06. Week: 4 December, 2000 ÷ 10 December, 2000

One week to go before work on the layout actually starts. The preps are well under way.
The first bunch of wood has been delivered! Paintwork is nearly finished! Our location looks neat now. However, we'll need another 10 to 15 weeks to complete the rooms.
Let alone the light fitting will take about 10 weeks' work! More than 500 spot lights and flooders will light the whole layout in a completely new manner! Gerrit Braun has completed his software! 10 computers will manage the lighting system on the layout as well as the room lighting. 30 minutes will equal a day on our layout! The computers simulate a whole day! More than 20,000 lights are controlled almost individually (!!!). Using the 500 partly colored ceiling lights will enable us to simulate sunrise, evening, and night nearly prototypically. When the evening falls, the lights on the layout come on one by one on a random basis! This is going to be a world premiere!

  1. What seemed to be impossible a few weeks ago, slowly comes true. This will be a cosy place later on !
  1. The benchwork is made up from these accurately milled boards.
  1. The benchwork slowly takes on shape. BTW, on this picture you see about 20 sqm (21.5 sqft) => 5% of the whole layout!
